Death Comes in Three

I am sure you all have heard the saying "death comes in three." I have no idea why it works this way, but usually three people die at the same time. Well, this week we have two funerals to attend and today we had an election! This election is worth more then one death though. Pretty disappointing to have almost everyone and everything you support, die! Well, it is time to tighten the boot straps and look forward to 2012! Hopefully, over the next four years the republicans will strengthen their party and prepare a conservative candidate, someone we could all get behind and support.

We had a great time working in a couple different campaigns this year and have made many memories. I guess you could say we try to fight for lost causes! Our local senator who is running against a long time incumbent lost really bad. The numbers right now are: Debbie Regala (incumbent) 70.88% and Larry Faulk 29.12%. I am so thankful that Mr. Faulk tried! No one has even considered running against Regala for years! Perhaps someone else will take the challenge and in four years the Pollock's will have 2 more voters!!! Although, I hope we will have moved by then!

Don Benton's senate race is much closer. I am not able to find very up to date numbers, but he is losing by only 147 votes. Hopefully, they will do a re-count and declare Benton the winner! We can't lose another senate seat. I also hope Rossi can pull it off. It would be wonderful to have a republican governor for a change! Especially since they will probably try to pass legalized gay marriage this session. All we can do is pray! God is still on His throne and He knows what He is doing!

I agree wholeheartedly...God does know what He is doing and all we can do is pray! He will see us through...

Great post Sarah. You are right it is a rather scary time in country, but God is on the throne and He will pull us through every thing that happens in the next four years. :)

Hi girls! Thanks for the comments! :) I think we have all come to the realization of all the possibilities the next four years have in store for us and it is quite scary! But....we can endure anything through HIM!! What a comfort.

My very dear Sarah,

First of all, I hope you are well!

Secondly, I'd like to respond to your post, and say that I am proud to be a Christian, AND I am proud to have voted for Obama.

Yes, I do not agree with all of his policies (abortion, for starters)

I do not associate with any political parties, but I do not believe that Democrats are bad or immoral people!

Living in Mississippi has really (unfortunately) opened my eyes to all of the blind hatred there is in this world. ignorance and racism combined is not a pretty sight.

I feel fortunate to have been raised by an educated, christian, conservative yet open minded family, and I believe with all of my heart that Obama is a Christian as well, just as says. He is also a good husband and father. I believe that through Obama, God will do great things for our country.

He may support some things that we do not agree with, but no one is perfect, and I don't believe that those policies make him the "anti-christ" or "muslim" like so many people seem to believe...

In conclusion, I am sorry that you feel this is such a scary time for America. I just wanted to share my opinion with you, and my faith that God will lead us toward good.

I hope that he doesn not disappoint you!

I miss you, love you, and cannot wait to see your lovely face when I come home in December!

Love,
Kelsey

Hey Kelsey, just thought I would leave a comment about your comment :) I really enjoyed reading your thoughts on this. There were things with both candidates I did not agree with. But whoever the president ended up being, McCain or Obama, God is in charge and knows what the plan for the country is. Although, I voted for McCain, one thing I am grateful to see in Obama winning is the fact that our country has come a long way in the issue of race. It was a huge step for our country to finally see past whatever prejudice there was for race and elect Obama. Yup, anyway, thanks for the thoughts...
I miss you!! Kendra

Hi Kelsey--Good to hear from you! I am doing very well--thanks for asking. I trust you are enjoying school and life is keeping you busy! I would love to e-mail you some of my thoughts on your comment. I don't know if I have your current e-mail address. Could you post it as a comment and I won't post it! :) Thanks--looking forward to seeing you in Dec!

Kendra-- We have been wanting to move for years! Don't worry--it will only be a local move--Puyallup or somewhere around there. Our life and friends are all here--we wouldn't think of moving far away! Hope to see you sometime soon!
